In New Plymouth, Taranaki, New Zealand there is a foreshore walkway. This winding path hugs the coastline from Port Taranaki , passed the wind wand in downotown and 10 kiloslater arrives at the mouth of the Waiwakaiho River. Since its opening ffour years ago the walkway has been a huge hit with locals and visitors alike. The perfect exercise by walking, jogging or biking along the coast. The barrier to further development northwards has always been the river. This has now been bridged – The Te Rewa Rewa Bridge opening up another 10 k’s of coast to Bell Block.
